Release and buying

When does ArcheAge Chronicles come out?

3 November 2026 at 3:00 PM PST, in Steam Early Access. The release page has the timezone maths.

How much does it cost?

$29.99, buy-to-play. There is no subscription and no deluxe edition on the Steam page.

Is it coming to consoles?

The Early Access release is Windows PC on Steam. The official site lists Epic, PlayStation and Xbox as platforms, but those are not part of the 3 November launch.

How long will Early Access last?

XLGAMES expects approximately nine to twelve months, with major and minor updates during that period.

Will the price go up?

The studio has said the price may change at full release to reflect additional content, and that any change will be announced in advance.

What is the pre-order bonus?

The Dawn Pioneer Set, a cosmetic outfit for one class of your choice. It is claimed from the main menu after you create a character, and only the claiming character can wear it.

Classes and combat

How many classes are there?

Four: Warrior, Berserker, Ranger and Mage. Each has two weapons, for eight weapons in total. The class matrix compares all eight.

Can I mix skill trees like the original ArcheAge?

No. You pick a class, then one of its two weapons. Customisation comes from that weapon's trait tree, not from combining trees.

Which class is easiest for a new player?

Berserker with Axe and Shield. It has the most health per mistake and crowd control to recover a bad pull.

Are classes gender-locked?

At Early Access, yes. XLGAMES has confirmed additional gender options are in development and will roll out class by class.

Is there a healer class?

No. There is no dedicated healer in the four-class line-up, and dungeons are built for one to four players without a trinity queue.

Is combat tab-target or action?

Action. You block, parry, dodge, dash and roll, and stamina limits how much defence you can afford.

Progression

How do I get new skills?

From your weapon's trait tree. Trait points come from Raeven's Coilstones, each guarded by a boss.

Do levels give skills?

No. Levels give stat points. Skills and skill modifiers come from traits.

What are Nui Tears for?

Turning them in at a Nui statue permanently raises your maximum HP. The cost rises with each upgrade.

Can I respec?

XLGAMES has not described a respec system. Trait choices should be treated as commitments for now.

PvP and multiplayer

Is PvP forced?

No. Standard channels have no open PvP. You opt in by switching to a PvP channel at a Nui statue, as the PvP page explains.

Can I be attacked by my party or guild?

No. In PvP channels, everyone outside your party and guild can attack you, and they cannot.

Do I get rewards for killing players?

Not at launch. There is a kill log and PvP achievements; rankings and trophies are planned after launch.

How many players are in a channel?

About 100 in a typical channel, with different caps for some channel types.

Can I play solo?

Yes. Dungeons can be run solo, points of interest are often instanced, and the open world is fully playable alone.

Technical

What are the system requirements?

Minimum: i5-10400 or Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, RTX 2060 SUPER or RX 6600, 100 GB SSD. Recommended: i7-12700 or Ryzen 7 5700X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB or RX 7700 XT. Full table on system requirements.

What languages does the game support?

English and Korean with full audio, plus Simplified and Traditional Chinese text.

Does it support controllers?

Yes, full controller support.

The game shows a black screen on launch. What do I do?

Wait. XLGAMES says it can take five to ten minutes to finish loading. Do not close the game before ten minutes have passed.

Which server should I pick?

Pick for latency and for the people you want to play with. Content is the same on every server; population is the only difference.
